How would you describe yourself in 10 keywords or fewer?
What is your role at Optoro, and what do you do?
I am a Talent & Culture Specialist at Optoro working on the Talent Acquisition team. I am responsible for all of our recruiting coordination and candidate experience, from scheduling and coordinating interviews for our candidates with our internal teams in addition to ensuring that all our candidates have a seamless and positive experience while they are on-site. I work with hiring managers to recruit and hire for our junior level roles as well as manage our relationships with local universities for our campus recruiting initiatives.
What did you do before Optoro, and why did you choose to work at Optoro?
Prior to Optoro, I worked as a Customer Service Representative for a produce company, handling order entry and logistics for redeliveries. I learned about as a referral, and after meeting with the team and learning more about the company I was sold on the mission, culture, values, and the vision for the company’s future endeavors. I was, and still am, very excited to be a part of a company that is focused on the environment and community.
What is the most important thing you have learned since starting at Optoro?
Don’t be afraid to take on challenges that you have not faced before. That is when you experience growth and progression.
What is the best part of working at Optoro?
I get to work with a very passionate, committed, and supportive team that shares the same objective. We’re all willing to do the work needed upfront to achieve our common goal. In addition, we have such a collaborative environment that allows everyone to voice their opinions and affect change and growth within the company or their teams.
What would you most likely be doing on a normal Saturday afternoon in your free time?
As a full-time student, I currently spend my “free time” doing homework and writing papers for classes. When I am not doing that, I am either at a kickboxing class or simply catching up on some of my favorite TV shows.
