Last weekend Optoro hosted an Earth Day Swap Shop in partnership with local businesses, non-profits, and sustainability-focused retailers: Patagonia, Martha’s Table, Turning the Page, Community Forklift, and Tuckernuck.
Despite a cold and rainy day, we saw a great turnout and counted over 1000 items that were available to swap. We were so excited to see that our local community is keen on stimulating the circular economy by free-cycling awesome goods that no longer serve them. Any items that were not swapped were donated to Martha’s Table, Turning the Page, and Community Forklift at the end of the day.
Folks who came down to celebrate Earth Day enjoyed tasty food and drinks from the Wunder Garten’s kitchen and taps, Cowbell Kitchen, and Rooftop Roots, and danced the chill away with tunes by The Plate Scrapers.
Thank you so much to our partners and local community for braving the rain and making this day a success! We’re already counting down the days to next year’s event!
